PS-ES-1718: Adaptive P2P Networked GPS

Many vehicles are equipped with GPS devices which assist them in searching the most efficient routes between two different geographic locations. However, these devices are not adaptive: they define a route based on a priori knowledge on geographic maps without considering the actual context or circumstances like the wheather, the traffic, etc.

At present, drivers must be aware not only of the routes proposed by their GPS device, but they also must be on the alert for traffic radio news in order to adjust the route to the actual circumstance. It would be desirable that the GPS device could automatically adapt the route taking into account the actual context and incidences, without the need of feedback from the driver.

PS-UK-1920: CSP4WSN

The subject of this proposal is the development of techniques and tools which permit new modes of cooperative working and self-reconfiguration in wireless sensor networks.

The foundational methodology will be built on the formal methods of Communicating Sequential Processes. It addresses generic classes of applications, such as environmental monitoring and emergency response, where reliable, dynamic reconfigurability of networks of nodes is essential.
