Public Sector Procurement

Mission:

To assist the Cluster Opportunity Group in developing strategic policies and actions, and in partnership with other agencies, in order to enhance, develop and sustain regional ICT penetration into local, regional and national public organisations.

Purpose to:

  • ascertain the current level of activity of supplying public bodies across the cluster and identify the issues confronting the region’s ICT businesses in the public sector market.
  • identify methods of encouragement, engagement and the means to expand the number of businesses able to conduct trade with the public sector.
  • provide leadership and direction on behalf of the cluster and develop a coherent programme of complimentary strategies with other agencies and bodies in pursuit of exploiting this market.
  • disseminate knowledge of methods of penetrating the public sector market within and across employer, partner and stakeholder organisations.
  • recommend strategic priorities and actions, both to AWM and other public bodies, on how they can assist in trading locally without comprising their mandatory commitment to obtain “best value” etc.
