Data Driven Logistics

15/04/2009

Tourists from all over the world are just some of the people currently benefiting from Data Driven Logistics’ (DDL) ground-breaking Canditv® (Call and Interact TV) product www.canditv.com.

The Stoke-on-Trent based company, founded in 2004 by Managing Director Kevin Griffiths, boasts a string of awards for its latest technology which ‘breathes life into screens and digital signage’ by enabling mobile phones to be used like a TV remote.

Canditv® provides a very simple interaction method building relationships between service providers and customers by enabling extended access to information. Simply by dialling a local rate or ‘free’ dial back number displayed on a digital display screen customers can access any content when they are out and about. In addition to up to date information, users of the Canditv® service have exclusive access to offers and promotions and can redeem valuable vouchers sent by SMS as a direct result of their interaction.

Canditv® has numerous benefits for information or service providers: it attracts customers in a cost effective way; conveys a message whatever the time of day; and increases their level of understanding of users, their interests and habits.

“Our clients want to use technology to stand out from their competitors and create a more efficient and rewarding service for their customers”, explains Kevin Griffiths, Managing Director, DDL.

Technology innovation is not new to the company who have established an impressive customer base including: Tesco, Nikon, Miele, Philips and The Carphone Warehouse that already rely on their solutions.

Since its launch in August 2008 Canditv® is already being used by the National Lottery provider Camelot as well as a variety of Midlands based organisations including Shakespeare Country (tourist information and accommodation booking), Water World (offers and discounts), Stoke City Football Club (pre match entertainment and voting), and Stoke on Trent City and Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Councils (interactive information and out of hours services).

Kevin Griffiths believes his company’s success stems from “The hard work and dedication of a professional team which is committed to technical excellence and service innovation.”

He has reason to be proud of DDL’s achievements.  In the past 12 months Canditv® has won the Sentinel Business Awards Innovation Category, ICT Excellence Awards Best Innovative Product and was a Finalist and selected Medallist for Flagship Innovation in the British Computer Society (BCS) Industry Awards.

DDL has its roots firmly in the West Midlands.  Its directors are local to the area and have graduated from both Keele and Staffordshire Universities after gaining Business Masters and Technology degrees.  The workforce of 20 is also predominantly local and consists mainly of graduates from Staffordshire University.

The company is grateful to have received assistance in the form of business advice, funding and support from many agencies in the West Midlands region including: Advantage West Midlands, Staffordshire BIC, Michelin Development Fund, Business Link, Stoke on Trent City Council & West Midlands Mobile and Wireless (Staffordshire University).  In return, DDL has welcomed the opportunity to engage in local business development projects, for example with ICT Cluster partners including local educational establishments and research groups.
