Awards Call for Entries - DPS Ltd & Daden Birmingham Winners Call for Entries to ICT Awards Two winners from the 2007 ICT Excellence Awards - logistics firm DPS Limited and virtual worlds agency Daden - are urging local technology companies to follow in their footsteps and enter the 4th ICT Excellence Awards sponsored by the West Midlands ICT Cluster. The awards honour the best technology companies region wide, and with an abundance of local talent in and around Birmingham, the area has a good chance of success. Halesowen-based DPS Limited was honoured twice in the 2007 awards where it was named Overall Regional Winner and winner of the ICT Excellence in Innovation (Product) category for its pay-as-you-go software; designed to plan routes, schedule a company’s vehicle fleet and cut carbon emissions. The 30-strong company, which operates globally, offers a wide range of specialised logistics support services including logistics consultancy, vehicle routing & scheduling software and in-cab control and monitoring systems. Daden Limited is a virtual worlds agency, www.daden.co.uk, and offers advice, consultancy, design and build services for companies looking to have an online virtual world. Daden is also the leading UK developer of Chatbots – the animated characters on information websites which talk to internet users. Categories in this year's awards include ICT Excellence Award for Best Innovative Service, Best Innovative Product, Best Added Value Service, Best Added Value Product and Best Knowledge Transfer, with an overall champion being selected from the winners of each of the five categories receiving £2,000.
