Business Link WM has recognised that the changing economic climate necessitates SME companies to look at how the markets they operate in have changed. A consequence of those changes is that many businesses are experiencing a downturn in profitability, a reduction in customers and a dramatic reduction in turnover. Business Link's role is to help sustain businesses during these difficult economic times and to help them identify new opportunities to grow their business.

The Business Diversification programme is aimed at assisting small to medium companies who have been trading for a minimum of 18 months. It is designed to help companies who may be experiencing difficulties at the moment identify opportunities to diversify their business  and either sell their product into a new market or expand their product range to their existing customer base – all supported by a Business Link adviser.  The main objectives of this programme are to protect and create new and existing jobs, stabilise failing companies and to position companies for recovery by increasing sales.

This year Business Link envisages being able to undertake over 800 company reviews and out of these help more than 300 qualifying businesses. For more information on the Diversification Programme and to explore whether this is a suitable opportunity for your business, contact Business Link on 0845 113 1234.
