Objectivity |
In 1992 Objectivity, bespoke software development company, located to the West Midlands to be near to its customer 3i, giving it the level of customer service the company is renowned for. Objectivity soon reaped the benefits from the area’s skilled workforce and excellent transport links and it has not looked back since. It now develops, supports and maintains software applications for organisations in the UK, typically turning over £100m or more, including well-known brands such as Primark, Virgin Media, Shell and FA Premier League. Objectivity’s recent business win, Virgin Media, sees the company building a software application to improve the efficiency of Virgin Media Television’s internal operations across its Web platforms. The deciding factor for signing the agreement was the range of innovation and business benefits that Objectivity has consistently delivered to its clients. In addition to this project, Objectivity provides software services that span all aspects of a business’s lifecycle. Software projects are taken from the initial design all the way through development, testing, implementation and the subsequent maintenance and support stages.* Today, IT Directors are often realising that it is extremely hard to manage a development team in-house and are increasingly turning to Objectivity to access its highly skilled software experts, at the time when they are needed. “Software development has the tendency to come in bursts, which means you’re always struggling to keep your resource level right. In addition, most companies want to see the cost of a project as a one-off expense which needs a clear ROI; not as an intangible overhead that is incurred on a monthly basis”, says Rob Helle, Managing Director. “In effect, our customers are buying a result rather than managing a team.” Rob continued, “Objectivity feels that its success is down to its relentless focus on the customer’s business needs. Our customers are so large that they can always replace us as a supplier. It is our job to make sure they don’t want to do that because of the excellent service. It is for that reason alone that most of our customers never leave; and our three start-up customers (Primark Stores, IPC Media and 3i) are still important customers today.” The company enjoys a further significant competitive advantage with its nearshore, wholly-owned centre in Poland bringing cost-efficacy and benefits of a similar time zone and culture to its clients, versus many companies who chose to locate their centres further afield. As the company continues to build on its successes, future projects are in development. Objectivity has recently launched a Project Recovery service that focuses on turning around ailing IT projects. Rob Helle commented on the new service: “Through the combination of project management skills and technical analysis with reviews of business objectives, we work to turn an IT project that is heading for failure into a success.” For further information on Objectivity, please refer to: www.objectivity.co.uk or contact Rob Helle on 02476 420 000. |
