e-innovation centre for start ups and growing businesses in the West Midlands

e-Innovation Centre in TelfordCharacterised by its innovative approach to business accommodation and support, the e-Innovation Centre (e-IC) on the University of Wolverhampton's Telford campus offers start-up and growing businesses state-of-the-art business accommodation in a new, modern building with hi-tech support from a team of consultants.  
 
A £7 million project funded by Advantage West Midlands, the European Regional Development Fund and the University of Wolverhampton, the e-IC was a double winner at the West Midlands ICT Excellence Awards 2007, achieving both the ICT Excellence in Creative Partnerships and ICT Excellence in Public Sector ICT Projects Awards.

The e-IC team encourages businesses to integrate new ideas and technologies and provides consultancy on almost any aspect of IT, and how to optimise its use, to companies throughout the West Midlands.  Consultants can also deliver IT solutions in specialisms such as web technologies, IT strategies, smart card development, near field communications, radio frequency identification and multi-media technologies.  

An innovative, stylish Launch Pad Unit at the Centre is designed for individuals who want to develop their embryo business ideas without incurring vast expense.  Shared, furnished workspace, support with the latest technologies and meeting facilities are offered in a stimulating and supportive environment.
 
A purpose-built Training Suite within the Centre, which includes an ICT training room with up-to-date collaborative workstation pods and onsite technical support, is also available for hire by external companies.
 
During the two year period 2006-2008, the e-IC project team assisted well over 200 companies in the West Midlands with funded IT solutions, creating just under £3m worth of new sales.
